Ballon d’Or ceremony, an award to honor the most outstanding individuals in football, has finally set a date for both men and women nominees in Paris, France.

In a statement by France Football Magazine (organizers) on Monday, disclosed that the ceremony will take place on September 22, 2025 and the number of awards for women and men will be equal for the first time.

Gistzone reports that the award categories for best women’s goalkeeper, best young women’s player and top women’s scorer in a club or national team have been added to the list this year.

The statement partly reads: “We are proud to expand our recognition to include three new categories celebrating the achievements of female players.”

The prestigious event, which honors the world’s best football players, will be held at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France.
