MultiChoice Group, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, has refuted circulating rumours suggesting that aspiring contestants must pay to audition for the reality TV show, Big Brother Naija.

In a public notice shared across the company’s verified social media accounts on Tuesday, the sub-Saharan African entertainment provider advised fans and interested participants to rely strictly on their official platforms for accurate updates regarding the show.

They reiterated that auditions for the popular reality show remain completely free of charge for all qualified Nigerians.

“Any communication requesting payment related to Big Brother Naija auditions is false and should be disregarded,” the statement read in part.

The company further warned the public against falling for online or offline messages demanding any form of payment in exchange for audition access, stressing that such communications are fraudulent.

“Big Brother Naija auditions require no payment, and remain free, fair, and accessible to all eligible Nigerians.

“Rely only on the official Africa Magic and Big Brother platforms for accurate information about Big Brother Naija,” the statement added.

MultiChoice concluded by thanking viewers for their ongoing support and excitement about the show, while also encouraging everyone to remain cautious and not fall victim to misinformation.

Earlier this month, the organizers of Big Brother Naija revealed that auditions for the highly anticipated Season 10 will take place in three major Nigerian cities: Lagos, Enugu, and Abuja.

As outlined in the official statement, interested participants were required to register via the Africa Magic TV website between May 3 and May 7.

Those who successfully completed the online registration are expected to attend the in-person auditions, which are scheduled to be held from May 16 to May 18.

The audition is open to applicants who are 21 years of age or older.
