On 2 January, Lens defeated Toulouse 3-0 away, securing their eighth consecutive victory in all competitions and clinching the Ligue 1 mid-season title. They now lead second-placed Paris Saint-Germain by four points, having played one more game.

Lens have performed admirably in Ligue 1 this season, achieving a record of 13 wins, 1 draw, and 3 losses, scoring 31 goals and conceding 13.

It’s worth noting that this is the fourth time Paris Saint-Germain have failed to win the Ligue 1 mid-season title since the Qatari consortium took over. The previous three times were in the 2014/15, 2016/17, and 2020/21 seasons.
