ABUJA, Nigeria — Lieutenant Princess Oluchukwu Owowoh has made history by becoming the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the prestigious Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) in the United Kingdom, marking a major milestone for the Nigerian Armed Forces and women in military service.

Born in Abia State in 1999, Lieutenant Owowoh attended Army Day Secondary School, Asaba, before enrolling in the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, as a member of the 72 Regular Course.

During her time at the NDA, she distinguished herself through outstanding academic performance, discipline, and leadership. She graduated with a First Class degree in Biological Sciences and became the first female cadet to serve as Company Senior Under Officer Charlie (CSUO C), one of the academy’s highest leadership appointments.

Her successful graduation from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst further highlights her commitment to excellence and represents a significant achievement for Nigeria’s military, inspiring a new generation of women to pursue leadership roles in the armed forces
