Gbeedu’s town in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, was full of emotion when music lovers gathered for the highly anticipated “Night Pansa Pansa”. The night concert, which was put on the next day, presented an alignment of artists full of stars, including Latoya Aduke, Buga, Baba Ani, Jemiriye and the host, Kola Ogunkoya.

The program began with Olufesobi Folush, also known as Mandela Trumpeter, establishing the tone with classical Highlife music in its trumpet. Latoya Aduke, wife of the legendary Orlando Julius, captivated the audience with moving interpretations of the compositions of her late husband, including “Onisuru” and “Eni Lokan”. Buga, known for his successful “Buga” songs and “Mummy Oo Ma Peye”, knocked down the house with his energy performance, while Labule’s drummers tempted the crowd.

Jemiriye, a musician based in Paris, gave the public a serenade with the classic “Onidodo” of Fela Kuti, who shows his moving voice and his status as a cultural ambassador. Adefolaju Michael, a trumpeter who worked with Ras Kimono and Orlando Julius, impressed the crowd with his mastery of the brass instrument. Other notable artists included Showboy, Abbey Afowoslide, Donnish and Baba Ani, who led the Egypt ‘Band ’80, the old band of Fela Kuti.

The presenter of the night, Tunji Somitrin, did an excellent job presenting artists and artists, ensuring a soft and pleasant experience for the audience. The musical director, according to Onanubi, provided exceptional support for all artists, while Kola Ogkoya’s brother, based in South Africa, surprised Gbedu’s teacher, increasing the emotion of the night.

Latoya Aduke praised the event, describing it as an “interesting night of nostalgia” and expressed his desire to pay tribute to Orlando Julius in Afro Beat Café. Pansa Pansa night was up to expectations, celebrating the richness of Afrobeat’s music and the talents of these recognized artists.
