The Chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Chukwuemeka Agbata, has called for greater accountability from state governors and local government chairmen following the removal of fuel subsidy.

Agbata said the impact of subsidy removal should not be blamed solely on the Federal Government.

He urged citizens to demand transparency from state and local government authorities over how public funds are used.

According to him, governors and local government chairmen have important roles to play in ensuring that the benefits of increased government revenue reach the people.

The FERMA chairman also stressed the need for stronger accountability and effective use of public resources across all levels of government.
